Thoughts on Sport: Highlights

Otto Morrison, a talented Logan Park Volleyballer, recently represented Otago in the U17 National Volleyball Tournament. As a key setter, Otto’s intelligence and passion for the game were evident. The U17 boys faced strong competition, experiencing tough matches but growing immensely from the challenge. Congratulations, Otto, on a great tournament! See the photo attached. Otto is player No 4.

Logan Park High School students Max Turner and Benj Sanford braved a challenging, mud-soaked course this week at the Otago Secondary School Cross Country Championships. Despite the tough conditions, both boys demonstrated excellent resilience and strong performances in their respective age groups. Max Turner showcased an impressive finish, digging deep in the final kilometer to gain ground and secure 3rd place. His determination in such adverse conditions is truly commendable. Benj Sanford also ran a strong race, contributing to a successful outing for Logan Park’s cross-country contingent.

The Logan Park High School gym was buzzing last Friday as the Logan Park staff laced up to take on the school’s best boys’ basketball team. Billed as a fun game, the competitive spirit was palpable on both sides, with everyone playing for pride and a good laugh.

The students ultimately clinched the win, but the staff certainly made them earn it! The crowd went wild as Luke Fraser used his impressive height to deliver a series of crowd-pleasing slam dunks, showcasing why he’s a force on the court. Not to be outdone, Danielle Frost sank a superb three-pointer, proving the staff had some serious game too. It was a fantastic event of basketball, camaraderie, and a testament to the great spirit at Logan Park.
