Success For Our Triathletes

Logan Park’s Triathlon Team recently tackled the Challenge Wanaka Secondary School event, a perennial favorite for our school. While the weather decided to provide some “character-building” challenges, our athletes weren’t deterred and pushed through the wind and rain with impressive grit.

The highlight of the day was the outstanding performance of our U19 Girls team. They delivered a stellar double-podium finish, securing 2nd place in both the Challenge Wanaka U19 Girls section and the Otago Secondary School Triathlon Champs. It was a fabulous day of racing and resilience. Congratulations to the whole team!

After the secondary schools triathlon success on Friday 20th of February.  Four students backed up for Saturday’s half iron, a grueling 1.9Km swim (Anna Goodin), a 90Km ride (Kate Davey and Ethan Wright), and a 21 Km run by Laura Simpson and Ethan Wright). A unique opportunity to compete alongside international professional triathletes. And after 6 hours and 4 minutes the team of 4 athletes crossed the finish line. Elated, exhausted and extremely proud of their effort.  They will be back next year wiser, stronger and faster.  A big thank you to the support of Ethan Wright’s parents Shane and Julie for their hospitality.
