On the 24th and 25th of May Logan Park competed in the annual Otago Secondary Interschool Chess Championship.

It was a great weekend and we had 3 teams competing.

A Team – Tyne Grant, Eshaan Atre, Daniel Blakeley and Geordie Stephenson

B Team – Ramon Quennell, Aidan Dixon, Roshan Ashraf and Matai Franzbowden

C Team – Leo Nichols, Shihang Xu, Hayze Belaruby and Miseki Honjo 

Overall the A Team won the Tournament, winning every match along the way (a match consists of 4 games). They also qualified for the Nationals, being held in Christchurch, in September.

The B Team finished 5th and the C Team 11th. 

Eshaan Atre was the only player in any team that won all his games.
