For the first time, but certainly not the last time, Logan Park High School Dancers performed at the annual South Dunedin Street Festival.
Since this event is so close to the start of the year, the classes polished up some of their previous performances from 2024 to perform to an audience of over 100. The Year 10’s performed two contrasting pieces – a hip hop number which was choreographed by the group of Year 10’s that performed it, and a classical ballet piece from The Nutcracker – Waltz of the Flowers. The Senior dance class also performed two contrasting pieces. The first was a piece they choreographed as a class last year, a contemporary choreography entitled What Was I Made For – the intention of which was to show how women have continued to fight for their rights and keep getting knocked down by society as a whole. Their final piece was a fun Musical Theatre piece that is on trend right now, Dancing Through Life from the new movie Wicked.
There’s a ton lined up for the dancers of Logan Park this year, so keep your eyes peeled!
