Senior Prizegiving

Congratulations to all of our amazing students who shined at the Senior Prizegiving on Thursday 30 October.

The night was an amazing opportunity for our talented Senior students to shine.

Our two top achievers for the year – our Dux & Proxime Accessit are featured below.

Our Proxime Accessit for 2025 is a quiet high‑achiever with a razor‑sharp intellect, a dry sense of humour, and a humility that makes his success even more impressive.

The Logan Park High School Proxime Accessit for 2025 is Tyne Grant.

Tyne has been top of his classes across the board — from Geography to English, Classics, Statistics, and Computer Science. His teachers describe him as focused, kind, witty, and an absolute pleasure to teach. He pushes himself constantly, seeks feedback, and actually uses it — a rare and wonderful thing!

He’s also a bit of a legend beyond the classroom: a chess champion, a Futsal player, and the unforgettable Frankenstein’s monster back in the Junior Show — who I am told, somehow managed to be both hilarious and terrifying at once.

He is also a great storyteller and was always our class’ chosen “go to” narrator. Not that Tyne will be short of viable career options with his profound academic abilities, significant achievements and solid work ethic, but he should certainly add audiobook narrator to the long list of possibilities…

He’s proof that true leadership doesn’t always have to be loud — it can be steady, thoughtful, and quietly brilliant.

Congratulations Tyne, our Proxime Accessit for 2025.

Our 2025 Dux is one of those rare people who seems to have 30 hours in their day.
She arrived at Logan Park in Year 11 from homeschooling and right from the start, she stood out as someone who brings grit, grace, and extraordinary intelligence to everything she does.

The 2025 Logan Park High School Dux is Savarna Yang.

Savarna is an independent thinker who relishes challenge. She’s the student who doesn’t just master the task — she expands it. Whether it’s top marks in Calculus, stunning film concepts in Media, or essays in History that impressed a university professor, Savarna consistently operates at a level beyond her years.

She’s also our Head Prefect, a talented musician, and — on the football field — the famous “midfield engine” who never stops running, even after a decent whack to the face. Her teachers describe her as calm, kind, poised, and humble — a leader who listens before she speaks.

Savarna, you’ve set the standard for what curiosity, courage, and compassion can look like. You truly are one in a million and Logan Park is richer for having you in its whānau.

Congratulations on being our Dux for 2025.
