Rockquest Regional Finals

The Rockquest Regional Finals were held at the Mayfair Theatre on Saturday June 15.

Two bands containing Logan Park students performed on the night.

Year 12 student Callum Smith played drums in Talking Furniture, along with some Bayfield High School students. They delivered an outstanding live performance and placed second overall. They are now in the running to be considered for the national final, and recently spent an afternoon at the University of Otago recording studio making their video submission for the next stage.

The Duck’ns, made up of Joseph Scott, Tyler Cox, Frank Muir, James Holzer and Max Thomlinson put on a great show and had fantastic audience support. To get through to the regional finals puts them in the top 14 bands of the 54 that participated in the Otago region this year. This is an amazing effort, but particularly impressive as a band of Year 10 students. Stay tuned for more from this band!
