Outward Bound Pushes Boundaries

On the 24th of September, roughly 200 individuals gathered in Picton to start their 21-day adventure.

On course 718, I was in Sheppard Watch, which was named after one of New Zealand’s significant figures, Kate Sheppard.

Throughout the course, Sheppard 718 explored Queen Charlotte Sounds through tramping, kayaking and sailing, establishing a further idea of self, and how to be the best version of you.

I enjoyed learning new skills and, most importantly, learning how to navigate through group dynamics. High ropes, rock climbing, the half marathon, as well as plenty more activities allowed us to get to know our fellow 718 MBS course members.

We created strong friendships and bonds, which have extended beyond the course. I would highly recommend the course to anybody willing to give things a go, and try new things! I would go back in a heartbeat.
