Marcela – Caroline Plumber Fellow – Dance Workshop

Marcella Giesche is a free-lance choreographer, performer, and teacher currently based in Berlin.

Marcela has presented her choreographic work and taught her movement techniques across Europe and in the USA in schools, festivals, and dance studios to professionals and amateurs alike. She is the artistic director of the dance venue Lake Studios Berlin which she founded in 2012 in collaboration with 7 other international artists.

The Year 10 and Senior Dance classes had the opportunity to dance with Marcela for an hour, and work through her “Free Movement” technique.  The students learned a lot about how their body naturally moves and how to form their movements into their own dance sequences.  This was a valuable experience as they are all moving on to their own choreographies in class.
