In week 7, some of our Māori and Kapa Haka students went along to Puketeraki Marae to support North East Valley Normal School on their Marae visit.
It was a great learning experience where our LPHS students were involved in all facets of Kawa and Tikanga Marae. They were all amazing Tuakana to the NEVNS students, who enjoyed the outing and further growing their knowledge and understanding of mahi on the marae.
The students took up roles of leading and assisting in workshops, preparing, and tidying up the wharekai at the end. They were superb in putting their hands up to do the final clean which included ALL areas of the marae.
What a great learning experience for our students and seeing the Tuakana/Teina relationship grow with our neighbouring Kura.
