Life Education Trust Visits Our School!
On Thursday, June 19th, our school hosted the Life Education Trust team for a day of insightful and interactive performances in the Auditorium. Students from various year levels had the opportunity to participate in three different sessions, all designed to explore important health topics.
The performances covered crucial areas relevant to our students’ lives::
-
SMART$: Focused on building essential financial literacy skills.
-
SMASHED: Addressed the risks associated with alcohol consumption and provided strategies for navigating peer pressure.
-
BEHIND THE SCENES: Explored issues related to vaping and the influence of social media.
These interactive sessions encouraged students to discuss ideas and share their thoughts on these health issues. The performances provided valuable support for curriculum content currently being covered in Health Education (at various levels), as well as complementing our Future Pathways and Drama programmes.
A huge thank you to the Life Education Trust for bringing these performances to our students, and a special thank you to all the students for their engagement, respectful listening, active participation and thoughtful contributions to the workshops. We look forward to welcoming them back to our school in the future!
Parents and caregivers can continue these conversations at home by talking with your young person about the performances. Ask them what they learned, what stood out to them, and how the messages relate to their own experiences or challenges.
