Monday June 10, the anniversary of Kristan’s departure. We revealed and blessed a beautiful water feature in honour of our wonderful co-principal who passed last year.
The drizzle cleared and the Kapa Haka group welcomed the gathering that congregated around the new garden outside the staff room.
Kristan’s sister, Justine Mouat, spoke about the love that Kristan had for the school and her students, staff and wider whanau. Logan Park High School was a special place for Kristan for 30 years . Justine reminded us that Kristan liked to stay positive and that her light was one of the many things that made her such a special person, and that we should hold on to that and continue to build upon the legacy that she has left us.
Dave Penny, Andrew Spittle and Peter Hills also spoke about how she had impacted so many people and how our school had benefitted so much from her presence here.
The water feature is located outside the school office block and the running water is meant to provide a calming presence and remind us of the wonderful uplifting qualities of wai and our connection to nature.
