On 17 October, a group of enthusiastic Korean language learners from our school travelled to Christchurch to sit the TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean), an internationally recognised Korean language proficiency test.
This trip took place at the official Christchurch test centre.
This trip proceeded very smoothly, and the students enjoyed a rewarding and unforgettable experience together. Not only did the students successfully complete the TOPIK exam, but they also had an immersive experience filled with shared activities, such as eating barbecue at a Korean restaurant, singing Korean songs at a karaoke bar, and shopping at Korean stores.
Beyond the academic benefits, this trip fostered personal growth, intercultural understanding, and teamwork. Students developed confidence and independence throughout the journey, forging friendships whilst interacting with pupils from local schools in Christchurch and sharing their understanding of the Korean language and culture.
