Year 10 students in Mr. Pirie’s friction unit teamed up with Year 13 students from Ms. Evans’ human evolution class for an exciting hands-on experiment.

Using a traditional method, they created ignition by rubbing pointed māhoe wood into a groove of softer wood. This engaging activity brought science and history to life as students explored the power of friction!”
