In Week 5 of Term 2, the LPHS Kapa Haka group held a whānau pot luck in the Whare where students and their whānau attended.
Members of our Kapa Haka group performed 4 items in which we have been working on so far this year.
It was a great night with a warm atmosphere where whānau got to meet each other and know more about whānau and members involved in Kapa Haka.
We would like to thank all whānau who arrived. It was a great night full of laughter and interactions.
We continue to work on learning more waiata and haka to prepare for the Otago Polynesian Festival to be held in week 8, Term 3.
We also announced this year’s LPHS recipients of the Mana Pounamu awards. These awards are awarded to students for their cultural and academic excellence. The recipients of these awards are Ally-May Sharma (Tuakana) and Fayth Rakatau (Teina). Congratulations to both of you on these awards. We look forward to seeing you excel in the future. Keep up the amazing work!
