The second Otago University History Department senior secondary school quiz was held on Monday night August 17th at the Student Union. Twenty teams represented their schools in answering a wide range of historically interesting questions ranging from Black Civil Rights to assassinations.

The LPHS Jazz Band of 15 members travelled to Christchurch on Friday 31st July to compete in the CPIT Jazzquest, a competition for high school jazz bands and combos, run by the teachers of the jazz course at the CPIT.

Congratulations to our Maths Department who hosted the Dunedin Senior O'MAthalon event at Logan Park on 10 August. Over 30 Dunedin teams entered, including several of our own teams and our Year 12 team were placed 3rd in the competition.

The Otago Dance Association from the University of Otago visited Logan Park in August and performed in Assembly, as well as running a workshop for students.

Our Jazz Band traveled to Christchurch at the end of July to perform in the Jazzquest competition at the CPIT. They also performed at St Andrew's College and the Diana Isaac Retirement Home. Students enjoyed staying in the Jailhouse Hostel and having 3 days to make music together.

All the Year 10 classes, along with senior students, teachers and brand new international students enjoyed a week at Tautuku Lodge in the beautiful, scenic Catlins area either in May or in July.
