At the start of Term 4 Year 10 Food Technology students were given a Brief to design and make a special dessert for a teenagers formal birthday dinner that was unique and attractively presented.
The dessert had to have at least 2 different recipes and a variety of flavours and textures. During the Unit the students learned how eggs worked in baking and made meringues, mousse and ice cream. They also made brandy snaps and learnt some simple garnishing techniques. The results were impressive.
