The Choral Federations annual school choir competition The Big Sing, was held in the Dunedin Town Hall on Wednesday 18th June.
Twenty choirs competed throughout the day, each choir singing three pieces, a classical item, a contemporary item and a New Zealand composition. In the evening each choir sang one item at the public performance.
The Logan Park Choir, under the direction of Hana Fahy, consisted of over 50 singers, so was one of the bigger groups present. We did not receive any awards on this occasion but the adjudicator wrote in his report;
‘A choir that delivers a strongly rhythmic and energetic performance. You command the stage well and project your enthusiasm for singing well.’
