George Maclaurin and Jasper Holloway have been accepted into Victoria University's New Zealand School of Music, Jazz Performance Programme.

Both Year 13 students auditioned this year and they had to play an improvised jazz blues, a jazz standard and a prepared piece as well as passing a jazz harmony music theory test.

The boys will study jazz for 3 years and are really excited to be accepted into the prestigious programme. Jasper is in our jazz band, choir, and rock band 'The Only Others' and a jazz combo with George.  George is in our jazz band and won the Best Pianist and Best Overall Musician of the Festival awards at the recent JazzQuest competition in Christchurch in August.  Jasper plays guitar, drums and sings and George plays piano and keyboards.
