Over twenty of our junior students opted into our Peer Reading Programme, which ran in terms 1 and 2. Juniors were matched with Senior Buddies and they read together during Group time in the Library, three times a week.
The programme is designed for students to improve their reading confidence as well as their speed, fluency and comprehension. The party at the end of the programme is always a highlight, and student evaluations from both juniors and seniors show it is appreciated as a worthwhile experience.
Thanks to Liz Cameron and Morag MacTaggart, as well as our Librarian Jenny Millar for all their support with the programme. And thanks to the Senior Buddies for their inspiration and passion for reading.
