Congratulations to Lara Liesbeth who has won a New Zealand Spelling Bee Teacher Award, in recognition of her innovative and effective teaching programmes which aim to instill a love of language in her pupils.

Four awards were given throughout New Zealand. Ms Liesbeth will receive $2,500 as part of the award, and she plans to visit other innovative schools around New Zealand and attend an education conference in Melbourne next year. She was presented with her award in Wellington on October 17 at the national final of the New Zealand Spelling Bee. Last year, Logan Park student George Sabonadeire won the national title of New Zealand's Top Speller.
