In Sport, the school has continued to provide opportunities for students to take part in a huge range of events, competitions, seminars and coaching opportunities.
The student Sports Council is growing and going from strength to
strength as demonstrated by the successful inter house events they ran this
year. Coaching opportunities and seminars have supported the students
throughout the year and this is starting to show through. For next year a new coaching
academy is in the planning stages which is designed to help students become
coaches and managers while earning NCEA credits. A new sports web
site is also planned and will seamlessly connect with our new LPHS web
site, as will new methods for signing up students. Our final census report now
has the schools sports participation rate at 62% which is higher than the NZ
average and is testament to our students and their coaches.
