Mathew Denys Year 13, was selected to attend the World Science Conference in Jerusalem, Israel in August, along with 5 other top science students from around New Zealand.
20 Nobel Laureates were scheduled to lecture at the conference and 300 top young scholars from around the world were selected.
Mathew achieved NCEA Level 1 and 2 with Excellence, as well as earning an NCEA Scholarship in Statistics as a Year 12 student. This year he studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics as well as Calculus and English and was awarded Dux of the school.
Unfortunately because of escalating conflict in the area, the conference was postponed for 2014.
