Dragon Boat Festival celebrations

In order to foster students understanding of Chinese culture, and also thanks to the fund from Asia New Zealand Foundation, the Chinese programme at Logan Park High School held a series of cultural activities in May to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival.

Dragon Boat Festival originated in ancient China, commemorating the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan who committed suicide in 278 BC. Held since around 200 BC, Dragon Boat Festival has become an important part of Chinese culture.  We enjoyed an amazing Thai Chi demonstration in Assembly and PE classes also appreciated the opportunity to learn some Thai Chi.
