On March 14th, the Senior Dance class took a trip to Oamaru to attend a Contemporary Dance Master Class with professional dancers from Footnote Dance Company – Airu Matsuda and guest artist Joshua Faleatua.

They took the dancers through their typical warm up, as well as taught a section of choreography from the show the students were going to watch later that day. The Master Class was intense but a ton of fun, the students were so excited to learn a section of choreography. 

The performance, Modern God, was a phenomenal show, and it left the students speechless. Choreographer Jeremy Beck combined Contemporary Dance with live video and media into a piece where you really didn’t know where to keep your focus because it was all so interesting and exciting to watch. They were also permitted to take short form video and photos of the performance, which is not something typical in professional theatre.
