Logan Park has an outstanding academic reputation across a wide range of subjects. It has consistently been one of the top academic schools in the Otago/Southland region. Our students continue to excel in NZQA qualifications. In New Zealand’s premier academic exams, Scholarship, our students continue a 25 year tradition of excellent academic performance at the highest level. Each year, Logan Park graduates collectively win hundreds of thousands of dollars in university scholarships.
Students in Years 9 & 10 study subjects from the eight essential learning areas as described in the New Zealand Curriculum Framework. These areas are: English, The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Learning Languages, Mathematics and Statistics, Science, Social Sciences and Technology.
In addition to the core subjects above, students choose Option subjects. In Year 9 students choose six Optional subjects and each subject is for a half-year, except for Languages which are for the full year and count as two option choices. In Year 10 students choose three Optional subjects and each subject is for the full year.
