During tournament week the 1st 11 Boys Football team traveled to Invercargill to compete in the Linwood Cup. We finished a respectable 7th out of 20 and played some great football.

We had 3 wins: Dilworth (Auckland), Mountain View (Timaru), Roncalli (Timaru), 2 draws: Te Areti (Christchurch), Trinity (Dunedin) and a loss to Trident (Whakatane).

At times it felt like Murphy’s law was active as we dominated each game but conceded late goals to lose or draw in 3 matches. Isaac Simons was our MVP and top goal scorer after a breakout season.

Sam Heron was named young player of the year. Captain Jamie Fraser was voted players’ player.

We farewell the steel of Y13’s Jamie Fraser and Leon Wilson-Brown – thanks to both for their significant contributions.

2025 has been touted as the golden generation of LPHS football so watch the space!
