Renowned NZ author David Hill visited Logan Park on Friday and spoke to over 300 students. He shared his inspirations and insights about the writing process. He is a great believer in hard work, researching and redrafting writing, and he takes about a year to write a book to publication standard. He also works on articles, reviews and plays at the same time as working on a main novel.
Four former Logan Park High School students had impressive performances in the recent World Universities Debating Championships in Berlin. Alec Dawson and Kieran Bunn finished in the top four teams, John Brinsley-Pirie made the final series round coming 25th overall out of 400 teams and Patrick Dawson was an adjudicator in the final.
Talented art student Nada Crofskey-Rayner and her friends spent their summer holiday designing and painting a mural in the school's Learning Centre as a farewell gift. The previously orange walls of the Learning Centre have been transformed with the mural which starts with the big bang, then leaps from dinosaurs and volcanoes right up to the present day, incorporating the symbols of the four LPHS Houses.
Parents and caregivers of new students are invited to our New Entrant Afternoon Tea on Wednesday 20th February, 4pm in the Learning Centre.
The aim is for all new students to introduce their parents to their new teachers. Please RSVP with numbers attending to firstname.lastname@example.org
