Year 9

Students in Year 9 are to study subjects from the seven essential learning areas as described in the New Zealand Curriculum Framework. These areas are: Languages, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Social Sciences, The Arts, and Health and Physical Education.
 
All Year 9 students study a core of:
English
Science
Mathematics
Social Studies
Health and Physical Education.
 
Optional Subjects:
Students choose six Optional subjects from the list below.
 
All option subjects, except languages, last for a half-year. Language options last for the full year, and
count as two option choices.
 
Students who choose to study a language must still choose two Arts and two technology subjects.
 
All Options will be finalised by interview after enrolment. Subjects which do not attract sufficient numbers
may not be able to be offered.
