Changes to Adult Community Education at LPHS in 2010
Adult Community Education Government funding in 2010 has changed. The ACE programme offered by Logan Park High School in 2010 has been adapted to meet funding changes. Our programme now offers both funded & self-funded education.
ACE courses are open to everyone aged 16 years and over who are living, working or visiting our communities. We aim to provide quality courses, competitively priced, set in a learner focused environment.
Through attending one of our ACE courses you will be able to learn something new; enhance your social and personal well-being; challenge yourself and develop your skills and abilities.
The new programme reflects a stronger focus on educational opportunities for adults who identify with the Tertiary Education Commission national ACE priorities and identified community learning needs. This means, if you enrol in a Literacy, Numeracy, or English language based course, you may be entitled to a free, or subsidized, place on the course. (Government and TEC criteria apply)
If you do not fit the TEC criteria you are still most welcome to enrol in any of the TEC funded courses. However, non-funded course fees will apply.
Fees apply to most collaborative courses held both on & off-site such as at Literacy Aotearoa, Deaf Aotearoa and English Language Partners. CBES and New Zealand Sign Language course fees are advertised next to their course descriptions in the course details. Other course fees are also as advertised.
Many of our Funded courses will be held off-site (see venue information in the course description) and will be jointly run in collaboration with English Language Partners (Dunedin), Deaf Aotearoa, Literacy Aotearoa, and other Dunedin based community groups, enabling us to offer a programme that is taught by specialist tutors to enhance your experiences and to ensure that you embark on a course of learning that fits your needs.
Enrolment Information: you must have your enrolment form (see link on sidebar to left) completed and returned to ACE at Logan Park High School, by the enrolment deadline. This also applies to returning students and those attending free, subsidized, OFF-SITE or koha courses.
All fees must be paid by the enrolment deadline. It is your responsibility to make sure you are enrolled—please contact the ACE Coordinator at least two days before your course is due to start to confirm your place.
Specific Needs: If you have specific needs, please contact the course provider for any assistance you require.
Waahanga tuatoru -Term 3 enrolment deadline 19 July 2010 - Enrol Now!
Refunds: Refunds are not given unless the course is cancelled. Please see Logan Park High School Adult Community Education Enrolment and Refund Policy in the ACE learner (student) information (see left sidebar) or contact the ACE coordinator: soo.graham@lphs.school.nz
Short notice withdrawals before the beginning of a course will incur an $18 administration charge. To qualify for a refund, seven days notice must be given before the start date of the course. Your place on any of our ACE courses is not guaranteed until it is paid for.
Phone: (03) 470 3019 or (03) 477 3586 ext 9202
Payment Options: Postal payments made payable to ACE at LPHS, Private Bag 1905, Dunedin 9054. (Cheque or Credit card Only).
The Logan Park High School office accepts cash, cheques, credit card and Eftpos. The office is open from 8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Receipts: Receipts will not be issued unless requested. If an email address is provided on theenrolment form an E-Receipt will be issued.
Self-funded courses require a minimum number of enrolled learners in order to commence. ALL Fees must be paid by the enrolment deadline as advertised. ACE at LPHS reserves the right to cancel any course due to lack of fully paid fees.
